Year Leader (TLR 2B)

Required January 2022, an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher to join our Achievement Team as Year Leader.  All subject specialisms will be considered.

The successful candidate will work with the Leadership Team, Form Tutors and Pastoral Managers to improve progress and achievement of pupils. The role involves a combination of strategic leadership of behaviour, attitude and achievement systems, management of the education, social and emotional needs of individuals and key groups and the tracking and monitoring of student progress, planning any required interventions. Liaison with parents, staff, SLT and members of the community is key to maintaining positive outcomes and relationships with students and promoting the vision, ethos and aims of the school. The Year Leader is expected to work within the Achievement Team with the Leadership Team to ensure all students in the year group achieve their full potential.

Teacher of Sociology/Psychology (Full Time & Part Time 0.60)

Required from January 2022, an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher of Sociology and Psychology to teach both subjects in the Sixth Form.  An ability to offer another Humanity would be desirable but not essential.

This is an exciting opportunity for a subject specialist with a preference for sixth form level teaching.

Exam results this year in Psychology, 90% of IB Higher students gained grades 5+.   67% IB Standard students achieved 5+, and 79% of A Level students gained grades A*- B.  In Sociology A Level, 63% of students achieved A*-B.

Teacher of English (Maternity Cover)

Required from March 2022, an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher of English to join a highly successful English Department, to cover a colleague on maternity leave.  You will be expected to teach English across all Key Stages including the Sixth Form.

Teacher of Chinese (Maternity Cover)

Required for February 2022, an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher of Mandarin to join our outstanding Languages Department, to cover a colleague on maternity leave. As well as teaching Chinese Mandarin, Anglo European is also a Confucius Classroom, manages the Essex-Jiangsu Resources Centre and delivers the DFE Mandarin Excellence programme, which involves supporting other local schools in the teaching of Mandarin. The successful candidate will be expected to promote the teaching and learning of Mandarin Chinese language and culture, and support cross-cultural exchanges.  The school has three partner schools in China and regularly visits the country as part of the school’s extensive visits and exchanges programme, including the intensive study visit in Year 9 as part of the MEP Programme.

The school is looking for a teacher who has a track record of successful practice in the classroom and has the ability to work effectively with other colleagues to support the development of Chinese Mandarin at AES and in our partner schools. This involves a wide-ranging programme of enrichment.

Teacher of Business Studies

Required from January 2022.  We are seeking an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher of Business Studies, who has a commitment to developing good teaching and learning practices, leading to excellent student progress.

Business Studies and Economics are both extremely popular in KS4 and in our outstanding Sixth Form.  In partnership with the Peter Jones Foundation, the school launched an International Enterprise Academy in September 2021. This position provides an opportunity to contribute to this exciting initiative.  This is an exciting time to join an experienced team who have real ambition for these subjects.

The department teach a wide range of Business courses, including GCSE, A Level, Applied General A Level and International Baccalaureate Standard level, in addition to the LIBF Financial Studies Level 3 course.
