On Tuesday 2nd December parents and students were treated to a spectacular evening of entertainment at the Anglo European School’s Winter Arts Festival. The concert was organised by upper sixth CAS students; with proceeds from it going to Jessie’s Fund, a charity that uses music to help children who have complex needs. It is the first Arts event to be held at the school since they were awarded Artsmark Gold, one of only six schools in the county to gain the highest level of recognition for their Arts provision. The evening included a diverse range of musical acts from a Year 8 rock band to virtuoso performances on the piano and violin. There was also a gymnastic dance display by Year 7 girls and a Year 8 drama act.
In the interval parents were able to enjoy a rich & varied exhibition of Art which included work by students who achieved A*s in A Level Art & Design. The highly enjoyable evening concluded with a rousing arrangement of Beatles songs by the school’s highly regarded orchestra. The school is now looking forward to its annual Christmas Carol Concert in St Edmunds & St Mary Church, Ingatestone.
