Almost 100 students take part in the Anglo Eisteddfod

The Anglo Eisteddfod is a well-established tradition taking its inspiration from the national Eisteddfod of Wales.  It is a celebration of the international dimension of the school expressed through poetry, dance, music, drama and performances in all 7 languages studied at the school.    Almost 100 students take part in the Eisteddfod final performances, and at least as many again take part I the qualifying rounds, supported by English, Art, Languages, Music, Drama and Dance Departments.  The most prestigious award, the Palm D’Or, was presented this year to Dapo Adepetu, Ella Harget-Dash, Alice Johnson, Chrisanthi Symeonidou, Harry Wells, Chris Joyner with their drama performance from Marlowe’s “Doctor Faustus”, from the Upper Sixth drama class.  Mrs Gee said, “This is one of the strengths of the success of our application to become an Artsmark Gold Award; it was an evening of exceptional performance.”
