The dedicated members of the garden club, in Year 8, entered a competition to design a school garden working with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). They visited the local RHS garden at Hyde Hall and worked hard over a ten-week time frame to design an outdoor learning area for the school. As part of garden club we are now looking to implement some of the fabulous ideas over the next year to develop this area to be used for outdoor learning by different subjects as a collaborative project. We are looking at part of that space to be used by Biologists to learn about nature and to be able to quadrat a wildflower garden. We will also be growing some vegetables as a science and food technology project to support our understanding of healthy eating within the school. Watch this space for further updates.
