Year 10 students have been spending the first fortnight of term getting to grips with life doing their GCSEs.

This follows on from a lengthy process in Year 9 which involved meeting with a course counsellor to ensure they made the right choices when selecting the subjects to take for the next two years.

Each form were provided with two mentors; 9T were given Mr Barrs and Mrs Martin. Other forms such as N were equally as lucky in terms of mentors as they received Mr Price (History teacher). Their jobs were to make sure the students pick the most appropriate and suitable subjects to take for GCSE.

The one-to-one interviews allowed them enough time to evaluate their best options and talk though any concerns they might have.

Student Florence Drayton, 10N, said: "GCSEs are a big thing for me and they will be a task I will have to tackle with my sleeves rolled up, but this mentoring has made me more prepared for what I will soon face. I'm looking forward to it!"

Morgan Corderoy, 10N, said: " Their advice really helped me choose the right subjects which were suitable. I know these subjects will be a big part of my next two years so these decisions were important. I'm glad we have the opportunity for these sessions and I hope they're carried on."

Anglo European aim to carry on these sessions in the near future and will provide help for more up and coming students who are soon to tackle GCSEs.
