210 Year 11 students have completed their 10 day work experience placements, ranging from the dealing floor in the City to plumber’s mate, from retail to charitable organisations, in locations stretching from Edinburgh to Japan.
Although no longer a statutory requirement, we believe that work experience is vital for our students in preparing them not only for employment but for life, and view these placements as an integral part of developing rounded and confident individuals. So, for the first time this year we have organised & run the programme completely in-house in order to maximise the unique opportunities available for our students being part of the Anglo European School. Our links in the local community and our global contacts enable our students to combine work experience with developing language & cultural skills.
Here are 3 perspectives -parent, employer & student…
“We are so pleased our son has had the opportunity to experience work abroad, he is having the most amazing experience”.
“ He is a polite, mature & bright young man & I’m sure he will do well at whatever he chooses. He is a credit to your school.
”I’m having a great time. It’s amazing being treated like a real employee, part of their team”
On Monday, our students return to school, hopefully more motivated & empowered to achieve in the coming months, having had a taste of “real life out there”.
