We were fortunate enough to have ten employees from Ford Motor Company assist us, as part of their Community Day, in clearing the Pond area at the back of C Block.
Gerard Bowlt, Lion and DV Manager said: “Ford are committed to supporting the communities we work and live in. Through volunteering activities and projects, such as ground maintenance, we can help local schools and their environment – it’s a way for us to help give back to our community and share the spirit of Ford in helping to make people’s live better.
The Powertrain New Model Programmes team are usually launching new engine programmes in our European plants. This involves reviewing all aspects of the launch as it progresses (costs, technical quality and timing) and maintaining the programme targets. This volunteering project helps improve our own teamwork in an event outside of our usual office.”
Headteacher, Mr Barrs said “We were delighted to have the support of Ford volunteers which reflects the long association between the school and the company. We now have a pleasant and usable pond which adds to the school environment rather than detracts from it. Thank you!”
