Sixth Form student wins a seat to be elected as the Young Essex Assembly representative for Brentwood.

Lower Sixth student Amelia Nolan wins seat to be elected as the Young Essex Assembly representative for Brentwood.

The Young Essex Assembly (YEA) is the elected youth council for Essex. The YEA is made up of 75 young people from Essex aged between 11 and 19 who have been elected to represent young people in the county and campaign to make a positive difference to their lives. As part of the YEA members will be listened to by the county council, and by other groups working with or for young people.

On hearing the news of her win Amelia said “It is a privilege to be elected into the assembly to make up a part of the 75 young people who stand to represent our communities across Essex. I aim to make a positive impact for young people within my next 2 years in office and will take this opportunity to make a difference. I wouldn’t be in this position without the votes of all who participated in the election process. I thank everyone who supported me.”
