The Tom Smith cup is now in its third year. The game sees the Upper and Lower Sixth students play a match in memory of a Sixth Former who passed away from cancer. The current Upper Sixth are the holders of the trophy and wanted to make sure that they retained it. Throughout the whole day, the Sixth Form area was buzzing with competitive, yet friendly, banter as they awaited the 3:45 kick-off. The match was hotly contested and after 90 minutes, the game finished with a 2-2 draw with the Lower Sixth converting a late penalty to take it to extra time. The winning goal, scored by Lewis Callery, ensured that the Upper Sixth ended victorious at 3-2. It was great to see the Anglo Sixth Form come together to remember a student who had such a deep passion for football. An amazing £160 was raised and will be donated to Sarcoma UK in Tom’s memory.
