UN Peacekeepers Day 2017

Head Boy, Alex Uzoka and Head Girl, Olivia Conway represented the school and attended the  UN Peacekeepers Day 2017, commemorating over 3,500 peacekeepers who have sacrificed their lives in the service of peace while deployed with the United Nations.   They had the opportunity to meet with many representatives from other countries.   This year’s event was the biggest UN Peacekeepers’ event in Europe and attendance hit an all-time high with ambassadors, defence attaches and representatives of 115 different Embassies and High Commissions marching to the Cenotaph in Whitehall.  They laid a wreath for Dame Margaret Anstee, who was a friend to the school and the first female to head a peacekeeping operation.  Further information on this event can be found here.
