International Work Experience Exchange
We are extremely proud to have a long established partnership with three partner schools for work experience exchange visits in Madrid, Paris and Frankfurt. Our students have the opportunity to work abroad whilst living with their exchange partner’s family, and developing their linguistic skills in a work placement abroad.
All students studying French, German or Spanish at any level in L6 can apply for these exchanges. Students benefit from a significant increase in vocabulary and conversational fluency in their chosen language.
“This exchange is so different to any other. I definitely underestimated just how much confidence, independence and knowledge I would gain. My French has improved so much over the two weeks”
Francesca, L6 student
They may find themselves in a bakery, in a primary school, pharmacy, gym, vintage clothes shop, book shop, café etc.
“There aren’t any other opportunities to experience working in a foreign country, you gain many skills from an environment which you’re not used to. I made good progress and found it easier to understand what was being said”,
Ed – L6 student
“Every since my first exchange in Year 9 it has made me want to study there and potentially work there one day. I will never forgot the exchanges I have been on. Being in a German home for two weeks allows you to experience the cultural lifestyle to the fullest”,
Dylan – L6 student
These visits are two week, home-to-home exchanges so our students also benefit from living in their exchange partner’s home and experiencing day-to-day family life. The exchange partner also stays in our students’ family home on the home leg of the exchange visit and takes part in a work experience placement during the two weeks they are here.
“I would strongly recommend going on this exchange as you will be put in different situations where you will develop as a person. Your Spanish will improve significantly.”
Cynthia, L6 student
