We are seeking Midday Supervisors to ensure the safety, welfare and good conduct of pupils during the midday break.
Monday to Friday - Hours: 12:25 – 14:35
Salary: £12.14 per hour

Native Speaker Volunteers
Do you have any availability between 9:10am and 3:30pm to support our students with their language learning? Every year we welcome a group of native speakers from our wider school community to support our Sixth Form students with their language learning. The Heads of Subject liaise with the volunteers, who then have a regular slot with a small group of students at a time to practice their speaking skills ahead of their exams.
If you would be happy to volunteer a few hours each week to support our students, it would be greatly appreciated. To volunteer, or for further information, please contact Mrs Latimer via enquiries@aesessex.co.uk
Cover Supervisor
The school wishes to appoint cover supervisors to oversee whole classes, undertaking pre-set work, during the short-term absence of teaching staff. It is envisaged the successful candidate(s) will provide support in other areas of the school, if required.
The school prides itself on professionally developing all staff and we have a training programme for our cover supervisors.
Hours: 08:45 – 15:30 Various days available term time only
Casual and permanent posts available.
Salary: Scale 5 Point 9 (9-12) – £13.38 hourly rate.
£17,738.84 per annum (based on 30 hours)
Progression is based on an annual performance review.

SEND Assistant
An enthusiastic SEND Assistant is required to work in partnership with the SENDCO, and classroom teachers to support the progress of students who have special education needs, in line with the national curriculum, codes of practice and school policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive SEND Team.
Candidates are required to support students with literacy and numeracy and in accessing the curriculum regardless of their particular needs and learn effectively alongside their peers. As a result, SEND students will make progress in line with expectations and fulfil their potential.
Hours: 8:45-15:30 in term time only. Full and part time roles available
Salary: Scale 3, Point 5 - £16,626.03 per annum (based on 30 hours)

Teacher of Mathematics

Teacher of Business Studies
Required from April 2024. We are seeking an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher of Business Studies, who has a commitment to developing good teaching and learning practices, leading to excellent student progress.
Business Studies is extremely popular in KS4 and in our outstanding Sixth Form. In partnership with the Peter Jones Foundation, the school launched an International Enterprise Academy in September 2021. This position provides an opportunity to contribute to this exciting initiative. This is an exciting time to join an experienced team who have real ambition for these subjects.
The department teaches a wide range of Business courses, including GCSE, A Level and International Baccalaureate Standard level.

Catering and Midday Assistant

Reading Intervention Tutor
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Reading Tutor to lead targeted reading intervention sessions for students who have been identified as reading below their chronological age. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support and strategies to improve students' literacy skills. Alongside one-to-one literacy intervention, we seek someone who is able to support individual students with SEND in their lessons.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to make a real difference in the lives of students by leading targeted reading intervention sessions and supporting their journey toward improved literacy skills.
We welcome applications from both experienced Reading Tutors passionate about literacy and individuals who wish to develop skills in this area.

Teacher of Science
Required for April 2024, an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher of Science to join a progressive supportive Science department, teaching across all key stages. The ability to teach your specialism to sixth form is desirable. No preferred specialism required.
In 2023, 80% of students were entered for combined science, with 55% of these achieving a strong GCSE pass. The remaining 20% students opt for triple science with approximately 90% of these achieving a strong pass in all three sciences. In the 6th form, students can take A levels in the three sciences or as part of the IB diploma. Approximately 50% of the 6th form students take a science course each year, with strong A level and IB results.
