Anglo Award Pathway

In Year 8 and 9, a small group of students with additional learning needs are be invited to follow our Anglo Award Pathway, an engaging and practical curriculum designed to replace one of their two language subjects.

This invite is given by the SENDCO and Head of Languages as a curriculum adjustment. This pathway offers a more personalised learning experience, delivered in small groups, and is built around the nationally recognised AQA Unit Award Scheme (UAS). The aim is to provide a nurturing environment that strengthens literacy and numeracy while offering a structured, purposeful and varied cross-curricular approach.

The Anglo Award Pathway provides students with opportunities to succeed through hands‑on, meaningful learning linked to real‑life skills. Each completed unit earns an AQA certificate, allowing students to celebrate their achievements regularly and build confidence over time. Units can be tailored to individual needs and gradually progress from entry level to Level 2, ensuring accessibility and challenge for every learner.
