Folder Expectations
Students study at least four courses in our Sixth Form. As such, folder organisation is important to ensure that students store their lesson notes, homework assignments, revision materials and assessments.
Students must bring a “day folder” to school every day. Students are permitted to use an electronic folder if they use a personal device as part of their examination access arrangements or if this is agreed by the Head of Subject.
Form Tutors, Heads of Subject and Curriculum Managers complete folder checks to ensure that students maintain suitable folders.
Day Folders
A student’s day folder should include:
- A “weekly plan” course summary, which shows the order of teaching for each course.
- Two cycles worth of class notes per subject. Title and date at the top of all class notes.
- All assessments marked by teachers. Marked assessments should be responded to by students in the form of an “upgrade”.
- Homework tasks from the last two cycles per subject.
- Examples of wider reading / super curricular.
Subject Folders
Students must also have a folder for each subject they study. Some subjects which use computers frequently may require an electronic folder instead of a subject folder.
This folder can stay at home or in the student’s locker. Students should regularly add notes from their day folder to each individual subject folder. Notes should be organised by topic and be placed date order.
