Volunteer for our Career days

Register your interest to help our students

We are dedicated to providing our students with careers-related events throughout the year, to enrich and educate them on the world that awaits them beyond school.  These occasions are incredible opportunities for our students, and your time and expertise are truly valued.

We’re looking for professionals to volunteer for our careers events in 2026/27! These include Careers Convention and World of Work Day.

Anglo European Careers Convention, Wednesday 25 November 2026, 13:30 open for set up, event running between 14:30-17:30

This 'mini trade fair' style event provides students with the opportunity to meet professionals face-to-face; to ask them questions about routes into their career or company they are representing, and allow them to find out about career opportunities and entry points.  We invite you to set up a stall at our Careers Convention and to speak to students about your careers.  We'll provide chairs and tables, so please bring a display stand (if you have one) and any items of interest to use for demonstrations and talking points, leaflets or details to take away and sweets if you like!

Anglo European World of Work (WOW) Day, Friday 22 January 2027, 08:30-13:30

This popular careers day for our Year 11 students provides them with an opportunity to get ready for the world of work.  Students prepare a CV, explore career options and are provided an opportunity to take part in mock job interviews with genuine employers.  To do this, we would like to invite you to host mock interviews with our students and provide feedback on their interview skills.

Supporting our Employer Engagement Days

As part of our ongoing commitment to preparing students for the world of work, we are excited to introduce a new Employer Engagement Day programme as a pilot initiative for the 2026-27 academic year. We are looking for a small number of employers from our network who would be willing to volunteer to host students and help us shape this exciting new opportunity.

Employer Engagement Days will involve organisations hosting a group of four to six students for one day at their workplace. The purpose is to give students meaningful exposure to the working world and a greater understanding of careers within your sector.

During the day, students should take part in a work-related activity or project that allows them to develop key employability skills and gain insight into your organisation. While the specific activities will vary depending on the nature of your industry, we will provide a set of learning objectives to support the experience and ensure it is purposeful and beneficial for all involved.

We hope students will leave with a better understanding of workplace expectations, including how to communicate professionally, present themselves appropriately, work effectively with others and demonstrate a positive attitude in a professional environment.

We would also encourage opportunities for students to see a range of roles within your organisation and speak with different employees about their career journeys, responsibilities, and experiences. These conversations can have a powerful impact in helping young people understand the breadth of opportunities available to them and the pathways into different careers.

As this is a pilot programme, we would particularly welcome employers who are willing to work alongside us to create an engaging and inspiring experience. Your involvement would help us develop a sustainable programme that supports students' career aspirations while also providing employers with an opportunity to showcase their industry, promote future talent and strengthen links with the local community.

If you would be interested in volunteering to host an Employer Engagement Day, we would be delighted to hear from you and discuss how the day could work within your organisation. We hope you will consider joining us in making this exciting new initiative a success.
