Students attend everyday. We are open from 08:00 – 17:30 to study. The day begins with registration at 08:50. Periods 1,2 and 3 are “study periods”, unless students have a lesson. If a student is in a study period, they choose to study in our Study Library, group work common room, or quiet individual study rooms (E11). Students may have the privilege of afternoon home study, if they do not have a lesson beyond period 4, though early home study is reviewed for each student based on their academic progress and attendance.

Your parents must email sfattendance@aesessex.co.uk on every day of your illness. We send a half termly attendance report home and your place in our Sixth Form is discussed if your attendance falls below 85%.

The café du lycee is the Sixth Form catering pod, open during break time and lunch time. Students may eat during break time, period 4 or period 5 ONLY. Hot food from outside catering facilities e.g. Fish and Chips and McDonalds is NOT permitted.

Students should spend approximately 1 hour of independent study outside of each lesson. This could be formal homework, flipped learning or revision tasks using the Sixth Form Student Sharepoint page or Arbor.

In the summer term of Lower Sixth, students complete a destinations survey. This allows us to match you to a destination mentor who has either studied the course you wish to study or has worked in the industry you are interested in. You meet with your mentor three times to develop your UCAS application and CV.

We have two transition days for new Lower Sixth students in the summer term. All students must complete the mandatory transition work. See the “Sixth Form” page on the school website.

The Anglo European School (AES) prepares students for university through a variety of programmes and initiatives, including a robust careers education programme, a wide range of academic options, and international experiences. We also offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma and IB Career Programme. Additionally, we encourage students to explore career options and develop essential skills through Unifrog, work experience, and career-related workshops.
