APPEAL HEARINGS
The dates of the appeal hearings for Year 7 entry 2026 are Thursday 11th June 2026 and Friday 12th June 2026. The deadline for receipt of the Notice Of Appeal Form, information and evidence to support your appeal (please see download below) is 30th April 2026. If you submit anything after the deadline, it might not be considered and may result in delay to your hearing. This is the latest date to lodge an appeal against a refusal of a place before the end of the summer term.
Mid-year appeal hearings are heard on a case by case basis throughout the academic year. To appeal, please submit the Notice of Appeal Form within 20 school days from when we email the decision letter. We will then set a deadline for submitting the Notice of Appeal Form, information and evidence to support your appeal. If you submit anything after the deadline, it might not be considered and may result in delay to your hearing. The appeal will be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for making an appeal.
The Clerk to the Independent Appeal Panel is planning to hold the appeals remotely. There will be an independent panel of 3 or more people at the appeal hearing who must follow the school admission appeals code. The following happens at the appeal hearing:
- The admission authority will explain why they turned down your application.
- You’ll be able to give your own reasons why your child should be admitted.
- The appeals panel must decide if the school’s admission criteria were properly followed and comply with the school admissions code.
- If the criteria were not properly followed or do not comply with the school admissions code your appeal must be upheld.
- If your reasons for your child to be admitted outweigh the school’s reasons for not admitting any more children at all, your appeal will be upheld.
- You will usually be sent the decision within 5 school days.
